Palliative care program for elderly or sick dogs incurable
The Twilight program provides palliative care to elderly or incurably ill dogs.
Palliative care is care that improves the quality of life when the patient is elderly (geriatric) or suffers from an incurable disease with limited life expectancy.
The program does not differentiate between single and owner dogs and addresses both categories equally.
As for people, Twilight addresses those with low incomes: students, pensioners, the unemployed, people with a net income of up to 2000 lei for each family member and people for whom the costs of treatment exceed 20% of income.
The value of palliative care is much underestimated or unknown, while its costs are high.
That is why many lone dogs die on the street, unknowingly, and many owner dogs suffer for no reason or are euthanized prematurely because the owner cannot afford palliative care or neither the veterinarian nor the owner knows this concept.
An incurable old or sick dog can lead a good life with proper care.

What dogs can come in
in the program
Single (community) dogs found and brought to our office by private individuals, who will then take care of either the accommodation or adoption of the dogs , or their return to the territory;
Community dogs in the vicinity of tenants' associations, companies, schools, etc., when they agree with the return to the territory of neutered and marked dogs;
Dogs with owner, when the owner is in a precarious financial situation because he is:
unemployed;
pensioner, with a pension of less than 2000 lei / month;
employee, with a net salary of less than 2000 lei / month;
beneficiary of social assistance;
family member with only one maintenance worker;
member of a family with a disabled person;
student;
inhabitant of a rural area.
Dogs already in the care of a person or group of people, not legally organized * as an association, foundation, etc .;
* From #solidaritateTAC , we offered 10 free sterilization operations to our partners - animal protection associations in Cluj-Napoca or nearby. In addition, TAC already provides subsidies to partner associations, and they permanently benefit from reduced prices, lower than the social prices charged at the TAC office.
What dogs can not enter
in the program
Dogs with a certificate of origin issued by the Romanian Kennel Club or similar entities, from other countries (dogs with pedigrees);
Dogs whose owners have a satisfactory financial situation, which allows them to use the services of a regular veterinary medical institution;
Dogs already in the care of an animal protection association or in the care of a public shelter.
What documents are required for registration
No act. Our entire work system is based on individual responsibility and trust in the other.
For program records and work reports to donors or funders, we will only ask you to fill out a simple form that justifies your entry into the program.
We are sorry that you are in a delicate financial situation, as we are glad if you are a man who helps community animals regularly and therefore do not cope with the expenses. In any case, the data you entrust to us by filling in the form are secure and will only be made public as statistics, without individual details.
