Anca Georgescu founded the NUCA Animal Welfare Association in 2006 - today NUCA Animal Welfare, the first organization in the field to win USAID and Peace Corps funding for community animal sterilization. During the Be a Man campaign! Be Humane! Spay-Neuter-Adopted in 2007, the killing of community dogs at the Cluj slaughterhouse service was stopped through an official partnership between NUCA and DSVSA Cluj. Led by Anca, NUCA marked several awards in the field of animal protection in Cluj: eartags and registration of sterilized community dogs, the program I'm not a vagabond !, the first official program for accommodation and temporary care of community animals, the first collaboration with the Sanitary-Veterinary Directorate Cluj against cruelty and ill-treatment of animals, the first media partnerships with Cluj media institutions: TVR, Szabadság, Information, Monitorul de Cluj.

As a television producer, Anca conceived and directed, for three years, the show Peter's Ark, produced at TVR Cluj & TVR 3 and presented by the veterinarian Péter Madaras. During the same period, she hosted the veterinary medicine column - Zoe's Ark - on Radio Cluj. Peter's Ark show was the first TV show in Romania to enter the veterinary operating room.

As a medical journalist, Anca was, for two years, the editor of the Intensive Care page of the weekly Foaia Transilvană and editor of Petzoom magazine. He left Cluj and the media for a few years and worked as a communication specialist at the World Wide Fund for Nature and other international organizations. She is a member of the IUCN Commission on Education and Communication and a member of the UNDP Post-Crisis Communication Expert Corps.

In 2016, he graduated from the extended animal welfare International Training Program of the British organization Dogs Trust and, six months later, won the Top of the Class award for the most consistent post-workshop knowledge transfer process. Anca initiated and leads the animal advocacy activity of our organization ( #TACvocacy ) for which, Anca received in 2018 the Award of Merit, the annual award of the EU Dog & Cat Alliance for advocacy. Anca's dogs are Matilda, Cal and Silvia, all three former community dogs.
