As we will tell you on the phone when you make the appointment, the animal must not eat on the day of the operation, no matter what time the intervention is scheduled. Once you arrive at the office, the patient is hospitalized and you will sign a document that represents your informed consent, after the natural risks have been explained to you. From this moment, the animal remains in our care, and you are told the time when you must return for discharge. Discharge after sterilization is done on the same day.
In some cases, especially when the operated patient will not be at home or closely monitored, discharge may be the next day. The time of discharge is decided by the doctor who operated,
with you.

At the CT scan, there is no discharge of patients who are still under anesthesia or semi-conscious, nor is it possible for you to take the animal out of the hospital. Any discharge is made by a member of the TAC team, only after a final consultation and only after you have listened to the postoperative instructions and received the printed TAC materials, with the same information. Among them is a flyer with all our contact details, with the name of the surgeon who operated on it.
In the first days after the operation, you will be able to call him directly, at any time of the day or night, for anything that worries you or you do not understand the condition or behavior of the animal.
OPERATION
The effect of anesthesia sets in within minutes. The operation takes 8-10 minutes for a male animal and 10-15 minutes for a female animal. The incision is 1-4 cm. TAC team. operates with key hole and flank surgical approaches. These methods are much superior to the classic one, because they reduce bleeding, the risk of bleeding, recovery time, pain.
After the operation, our patient will wake up in less than 30 minutes if he is a young animal and in no more than 3 hours if he is a mature animal. Usually, however, the three-hour threshold is not reached. The postoperative stage begins, in which the patient is monitored and cared for.
Increased discomfort after surgery is rare, and vomiting is repeated even less often. If, say, our team operated on the animal at 2 p.m., before evening you will have the animal with you as you know it, and someone outside will not realize that it was operated on a few hours earlier. In addition, you do not need to return to remove the threads, because we only use resorbable threads, so they will "melt".
Years ago, this operation was
not only expensive, but also a very unpleasant event for the owner. The operation lasted 1-2 hours, the incision was 10-20 centimeters, the animal woke up in a few hours or the next day, with deep pain, often vomiting repeatedly and needed close supervision for several days. Then, for at least two weeks, it was necessary for the owner and the patient to return to the office several times, until the sutures were removed.

IS STERILIZATION MANDATORY?
DOGS In Romania, the sterilization of dogs is mandatory by law, since 2013. Only dogs with a certificate of origin (pedigrees), special status (utility dogs) or medical contraindications for the operation have the right to reproduce. The pedigree is an official document issued by the Romanian Canine Association and should not be confused with the health card.

The price includes pre-anesthetic consultation, anesthesia, surgical work, analgesic and antibiotic treatment, intra- and postoperative care (infection control, monitoring, additional heat, etc.), hospitalization and supervision for 2-10 hours.
In our country, sterilization has a unique price, regardless of the patient's sex (on which depends the complexity of the work), body mass (on which depends the complexity and duration of postoperative care) and general health (which influences the degree of risk of intervention).
The purpose of the single price is to cultivate individual and community solidarity. For example, a man for whom the amount of 250 lei is not a problem and who brings to us a male patient of 10 kg and perfectly healthy must know that he will bear the cost of sterilization for a less fortunate man, who brings to us a female patient 30 kg, middle-aged and with a problematic medical history.
